Death said to the lonely man,
"How do you know you exist?"
The lonely man replied to Death,
"Because when I lay in the streets,
Over me, people trip."
Death said to the lonely man,
"I will always be there."
The lonely man replied to Death,
"Of course you will,
You dine on despair."
Death said to the lonely man,
"Surely you fear the end,
Alone and without friends.
No one will mourn thy passing,
Your loneliness is everlasting."
The lonely man replied to Death,
"I do not fear the end, you see,
Because something is now clear to me,
If I exist and you stand by me and my home,
Then I will never die alone."
